A Turbidity meters measure the transparency or light transmittance of a liquid, not the Color of the liquid. Therefore, turbidity is independent of the Color of the liquid. In a turbidity meter, light is affected by scattering and absorption when it passes through a liquid. When there are more suspended particles, dissolved substances, or bubbles in the liquid, the rays of light are scattered by these particles, so that the intensity of the ray of light measured from the other end decreases and the turbidity value increases. In other words, the higher the turbidity value, the more particles in the liquid, the worse the light transmission, and the greater the hindrance to the transmission of the ray of light through the liquid. Therefore, for the turbidity meter, the lower the turbidity value, the clearer the liquid and the better the light transmittance, while the higher the turbidity value, the more turbid the liquid and the worse the light transmittance. This has nothing to do with the Color of the liquid, but mainly depends on the concentration and size of suspended particles, dissolved substances or bubbles in the liquid.
