The portable pinhole Detector is a high-Voltage direct current multi-hole Detector. They are also known as holiday Detectors, spark Testers, porosity meters and coating leak Detectors

They are used to confirm the lifetime of the coating system, by locating the porosity of the non-conductive coating on the conductive substrate including condensate, by locating the eye of the needle, air bubbles, and non-conductive coatings

Portable pinhole Detectors are also rented DC Detectors to customers in Australia

  • For the detection of porous coatings (pinholes or holidays) on insulating coatings (insulators) on conductive substrates including condensates

  • Suitable for production pipe coating operations, sink operation and construction. It is better used in oil storage tanks, gates and pipelines.

  • Encased in a fully portable ABS housing, the Detector provides a stable DC output of up to 30kV. A constant current source keeps the test Voltage applied. Full current testing at low Voltages (where most needed) When testing low film formation (e.g. 150μm, according to AS3894.1-2002)

  • Incorporate momentary and continuous switches (mounted on the panel) to enable the unit to be switched on instantaneously for safety, or to operate continuously

  • There is no need to swap power supplies or change Detectors to change the Voltage – the Detector has a clip-on battery pack that can be paid for an additional fee. The mains power can be switched off during charging operation (via the charger). It takes ten hours to fully charge. The stabilized DC output is fully adjustable. The applied Voltage and battery status are continuously displayed on the LCD TV.
