Elcometer 266 brings revolutionary changes to high-Voltage DC testing of coating pores, making detection safer, more convenient and more reliable than ever before.
The Elcometer 266 Spark Leak Detector can be used to test coating pores up to 7mm (275mils) thick and is ideal for inspection of coatings and other protective coatings on pipes. This leak Detector has a built-in Voltage calculator to determine and Set the correct test Voltage based on the test standard and the thickness of the coating being tested.
Voltage calculator function automatically sets Voltage based on coating thickness value
adjustable Voltage
0.5kV - 1kV: 50V interval
1kV - 30kV: 100V intervals
Double safety switch on handle to avoid accidental switching (grey/orange probe handle only)
Internal Voltage Tester ensures the selected Voltage is the test Voltage
Visual and audible alarm LED on handle and loud alarm provide clear indication of pore detection
To change the maximum Voltage range, choose different handles; 5kV, 15kV or 30kV DC or 30kV DC continuous
Various probe brushes and springs available

1. Voltage calculator The Voltage calculation function automatically sets the Voltage based on the coating thickness value. With built-in Voltage calculator, no need to look at conversion tables. Enter the test standard and coating thickness, and the instrument will automatically calculate the correct Voltage. | 2. Adjustable Voltage Adjust Voltage with keypad, no screwdriver required: 0.5kV - 1kV in 50V steps, 1kV - 30kV in 100V steps. Use the keypad on the instrument to adjust the Voltage, no screwdriver required. For semi-conductive coatings, the current sensitivity can be manually preset or automatically adjusted by the instrument. | 3. Internal voltmeter/Voltage verification device The internal voltmeter/Jeep Tester ensures that the selected Voltage is the test Voltage. In-house calibrated jeep Testers and closed-circuit systems ensure that test Voltages are accurately tested and continuously controlled, regardless of climatic conditions. |

4. Interchangeable probe handles Interchangeable probe handles: 5kV, 15kV and 30kV DC (direct current) versions available. | 5. Audible and visual alerts Audible and visual alarms are generated when cracks are detected. The handle has a bright LED indicator light and a loud alarm, which clearly indicates that the instrument is in working condition (red light) or a spark is detected (blue light). | 6. Battery pack The battery pack can be charged inside or outside the host for continuous use. The rechargeable battery pack can be charged inside or outside the host. The battery can be fully charged in 4 hours and can be used continuously for up to 40 hours after each charge. |

7. Universal probe adapter This allows the Elcometer 266 to be used with all major spark Detector accessories. | 8. Screen display The large backlight display is clearly visible even in dark environments. The background light also flashes when a crack is detected | 9. Auxiliary handle The optional handle is suitable for two-hand operation and is still very safe. Suitable for testing pipes and sink floors. |
There are double safety switches on the handle to avoid accidentally starting the machine. The two-level safety switch ensures that when the handle of 266 is not held in the hand, the handle is turned off.
The special threaded handle is more protective, and the optional handle is suitable for two-handed operation. The widened threaded handle can protect the user and is specially designed to meet the EN61010 standard. Achieved safe high-Voltage testing.
The instrument's speaker beeps clearly, indicating that there is Voltage at the handle.
When an electric spark is detected, a loud alarm will sound. The alarm volume can be adjusted to ensure it can be heard in noisy environments.
