fineness grindometer
Elcometer Fineness of Grind Gauges are used to determine the particle size and fineness of a wide range of materials such as paints, pigments, inks, coatings, chocolates or other similar products.
Double-grooved grinding fineness plates, all made of hardened stainless steel, with grooves of a certain slope (depending on the model selected).
The scale units are microns, mils, NS (Hegman) or PCU (North), and the error of the fineness plate is ±2μm (0.08mil). All models have a groove width of 12mm (0.47") and a groove length of 127mm (5.0").
How to use the grinding fineness gauge plate
| The measured material is placed in the deepest position in the trough and scraped in the direction of the uphill slope with the supplied scraper, and the particle size is displayed corresponding to the place where the material stops extending. |
