Test principle

This scratch meter is used to produce specific damage on coating-covered specimens to be subjected to corrosion testing. The corrosion test can use the salt spray test in accordance with DIN 50 021 standard. Erichsen type #606 and #608, #616 can perform this test.
This method provides a criterion for evaluating the impact of corrosion beneath the coating and its impact on adhesion. The length of lateral damage under the coating can be used as an indicator of corrosion protection.
