Introduction

This indentation Tester is used to evaluate the indentation resistance (hardness) of single or multi-coat coating systems, varnishes and related products.

Test Method:

Place the gauge on the coated surface and subsequently peel off after 30 sec to allow the coating to recover for 35 sec, place a 20x magnification microscope in the indentation by locating the indentation using the template provided, where the length of the indentation can be measured with a scale ruler. Indentation resistance is obtained by the formula 100/indentation length.
