The drying and curing time of Coating and paints were measured by observing the change of scratch track. The number of strokes was 6, the size of the strokes was φ 1mm, the load weight was 11g, the stroke was 300mm, and the track period was 1h/6h, 2h/12h, 3h/24h.

GZY-II Linear Drying Time recorder has six rods with hemispherical contacts, which are installed on three independent carriages.

The running time can be set independently for each channel to test different samples.

The paddle is driven by the carriage, contacts with the new coating layer, and moves longitudinally on the sample starting from one end. The moving time can be measured through the scale on the side of the channel, corresponding to each drying stage of the observed track. The coatings were pre-coated on glass strips 23 mm wide and 340 mm long using a square maker.

The principle of the drying time recorder is based on the mathematical formula:
