Applications

Instrument principle and main technical specifications

The asphalt material test piece is placed in a copper ring of specified size, and a steel ball of specified weight and size is placed on the test piece, and then the test piece is heated at a specified speed. After the test piece begins to soften, the steel ball falls to the specified height. The temperature is the softening point of the specimen, expressed in °C.

Instrument structure (see attached photo)

The instrument consists of the following parts: ring frame, copper ring parts (copper ring (8), steel ball (5) and steel ball positioning ring (6)) thermometer.

During the experiment, the copper ring (8) was placed on the corresponding hole of the middle orifice plate (7), the steel ball (5) was placed on the copper ring (8), and positioned by means of the positioning ring (6). There is a water level marking line on the ring frame. The distance between the upper plane of the lower deck (9) and the lower plane of the middle orifice plate (7) is 25.4 millimeters.
