It is very important to measure the wet film thickness of freshly applied coatings.
On the one hand, wet film thickness affects the coating quality of the product; on the other hand, excessively thick coatings can be expensive.
According to different coating methods, it is recommended to measure with a comb gauge.
Comb gauges are made of precision stainless steel, durable and reusable.
There are metric microns on each comb gauge as the unit of measurement.
Five ranges are available, up to 950 μm.

When measuring, press a comb with a measuring range close to the estimated thickness of the paint film vertically into the wet film.
Remove the comb gauge from the wet film.
The wet film thickness shall be between the shortest tooth that is wetted by the wet film and the adjacent tooth that is not infiltrated.
