ERICHSEN243 Viscosity Cup measurement principle: Viscosity is calculated based on the time (measured in seconds) for a precisely controlled volume of fluid to flow out of the Viscosity Cup nozzle.
The most important measuring instrument for simple and fast measurement of fluid viscosity in the laboratory and in production.
It has high accuracy for liquids that conform to Newton's laws, and is suitable for low-viscosity liquids, and is not suitable for high-viscosity substances such as pastes, pastes, etc.
ERICHSEN243 Viscosity Cup design description:
The Viscosity Cup consists of the upper cup cavity and the bottom nozzle. Excess fluid flows into the collection chute around the upper edge of the cavity. Generally, Viscosity Cups are made of anodized aluminum. The nozzle is made of stainless steel. Only the inexpensive 243/I cups are made of phenolic resin. However, the nozzle is still made of stainless steel.
* Negotiate the level with the level
*Place the Viscosity Cup on a lab rack or in a thermostatic bath
*Close the mouthpiece
* Fill with fluid
*Scrape the glass plate along the edge of the Viscosity Cup to scrape off excess fluid and cover the glass plate over the Viscosity Cup.
* Open the nozzle
*Remove the glass plate horizontally and start the stopwatch at the same time.
* When the flow of fluid is interrupted for the first time, stop the stopwatch timer and record the time.
Details are provided in each standard. Note: The Viscosity Cup is only calibrated within the specified range and at the specified time.
