Paper (Board) Tear Tester is a special instrument for the determination of paper tear strength. Its main technical indicators and performance parameters comply with ISO1974 "Paper (Board) - Determination of Tear Strength (Elimendorf Method)" and GB455·1 The relevant provisions of the standards such as "Measurement Method of Tear Degree of Paper (Board)" are the test instruments required by industries and departments such as papermaking, scientific research and product quality supervision and inspection.

The instrument should be placed on a firm and stable workbench in an environment with clean air at a room temperature of 20±10°C.


Principle

The instrument is designed according to the principle of the Elimendorf tearing instrument, and its Principle is: after the pendulum with a certain potential energy at the position to be torn is released, the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy, and the work is done by tearing the sample. The force required to tear the sample is indicated on the dial through the pointer, and this force is the tear value of the sample, in mN.

Instrument structure

The instrument is mainly composed of a pendulum system, a paper clamping mechanism, a paper cutting mechanism and an indicating device.

1. Pendulum system: It consists of a fan-shaped pendulum and a spindle system (see Figure 1). Through the potential energy-kinetic energy conversion of the pendulum during the tearing process, it provides the power required to tear the sample.

2. Clamping mechanism: It consists of two sets of jaws respectively installed on the base body and the pendulum body, which are used to firmly clamp the sample under specified conditions.

3. Mechanism: It is composed of a knife holder, a blade, etc., and is used to pre-cut the sample according to the specified size.

4. Indicating device: It is composed of a pointer system and a force dial.
