This instrument is a portable digital meter that can measure low resistance in the range of 0.001Ω to 200Ω. Higher accuracy can be achieved by utilizing a four-wire input to eliminate errors caused by test lead length.
The instrument is small and lightweight, making it easy to use with just one hand and can be operated using only one ON button.
It has automatic range, automatic decimal point and automatic shutdown after three minutes. It has long battery life and is powered by a single PP3 or MN1604 battery.
The complete M210 set includes: M210 milliohm meter, a set of spring clamp connectors and leads, leather case and warranty card with UKAS traceable certificate.
One of the important features of a milliohmmeter is its very low test current (5mA). This ensures that the contacts being tested are not "cleaned" by the test current . This "cleaning" of the measured contacts can lead to erroneous measurements.
In a four-wire "Kelvin" configuration, four wires are used to connect the circuit under test to the instrument.
One pair of test wires carries the current generated by the instrument, and the other pair is connected to the Voltage measurement circuit.
Current circuits are low impedance and Voltage circuits are high impedance. When connected, current flows through the component or circuit under test and the Voltage drop between the test points is measured.
