The EZ cup is a series of calibrated Viscosity Cups (ASTM) that cannot be compared with any other type of cup, whether it is the advantages listed below, good workmanship quality or continuous quality control procedures. All stainless steel cup and handle. The better, most reliable, calibrated and documented mug on the market.

The EZ Cup formula for each cup in the series matches the applicable ASTM formula in D4212 at recommended calibration levels.

EZ Cups are adhesive viscosity compatible with ASTM D1084 and ASTM D816.

Calibration of the EZ Cup is traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology

Calibration and certification procedures comply with applicable standards of ISO/IEC 17025

3% guaranteed tolerance meets and exceeds ASTM D4212 standards

Features

A conversion chart is provided with each EZ™ cup comparing flow time in seconds, accurate to tenths of a second, to viscosity in centistokes.

The EZ Cup's orifice is machined rather than drilled to ensure precise centering within the cup's hemispherical base and minimize burr formation. This ensures a specific length of the orifice and correct symmetrical outflow.

The support rod of the EZ Cup is offset from the side of the cup and fixed to the side wall of the cup below the cup rim. This eliminates errors due to loss of test material from the support surface.

The separation width of the support rod has been increased by more than 20%, and the weld seam is lowered to the cup, providing suitable conditions for cleaning.

The EZ Viscosity Cup series is the logical and necessary result of standardization research on the Zahn Signature and similar cups to promote this popular viscosity measuring instrument as a national and international standard. Not only is this cup an improvement over earlier production cups, but it is designed to meet the requirements of ASTM D4212. Additionally, each EZ cup comes with a table that converts the pour time in seconds to the nearest tenth of a second. Viscosity (cm stokes). This table is particularly useful in determining the outflow time in seconds since the viscosity in centimeter stokes is known.

For those users who require documentation of their measuring equipment, an EZ™ cup can be ordered with a calibration certificate for an additional fee. Not only does this document contain information on the actual cup calibration using standard oils traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, additionally, the certificate meets the conditions and procedures required by ANSI/NCSL Z540 or ISO/IEC 17025, as applicable.

EZ™ Cups are produced to very tight mechanical tolerances in carefully designed jigs. Such equipment not only ensures that each cup is produced correctly, but also that all cups are identical. Except for the nameplate, all parts of the cup are stainless steel. The table below provides operating range specifications, mid-cup sensitivity, and recommended calibration oils. Following this table are graphs and mathematical formulas that relate flow time (seconds) to percentile viscosity.
