The difficulty in testing viscous and dairy samples lies in the blockage of the junction. The former is because the sample is very viscous and hinders the seepage of the reference solution, and the latter is because the protein in the sample reacts with the reference solution to block the junction.

Pre-pressurized reference system

There are many viscosity test samples, such as creams, lotions, hair dyes, etc. in the cosmetic industry, jams and creams in the food industry, coatings, glues, paints, and resins in the chemical industry, etc. It is often difficult to test viscous samples with conventional pH electrodes, and the response is slow. Unstable readings, poor repeatability and other issues. Because the viscous sample will block the ceramic core and prevent the reference solution from seeping out. Another situation is the test under high temperature and high pressure, and the sample solution reversely penetrates into the electrode. The pre-pressurization electrode can effectively solve the above problems. Pre-pressurization is a special electrode processing technology, which is to pre-fill a certain pressure inside the electrode to ensure that the electrolyte can slowly flow from the junction even in a very viscous solution. Exudation can also prevent the sample solution from entering the electrode, ensuring stable and repeatable testing. The figure below is a schematic diagram of the pre-pressurized electrode, and the pressure indicator tube in the figure is used to control the pressure.

dairy testing

When using a conventional pH electrode to test protein-containing dairy products and foods, the protein in the sample will react with the KCI reference solution, precipitate and block the ceramic junction.

Protelyte is an oily electrolyte that will not react with protein, and the junction of the FZ-821/823 electrode has 3 ceramic cores, which is less likely to be blocked.

FAQ
QIs the price listed on the website the final cost for overseas purchases?
ANo, it isn't. This is the ex-factory price of the product in the Chinese Mainland. In addition to this price, buyers from different countries need to account for additional costs such as shipping fees, tariffs, and others. For specific regional quotes, please consult our customer service or fill out a quotation form.
QWhat is the specific process for purchasing the product?
AFirst, please click on the quotation form on the website and fill in detailed information. Our customer service personnel will then send you a quotation based on your specific country and region, confirming payment and delivery methods. Following this, we proceed with contract signing, payment, and shipment. You can then await delivery.
QWhat should I do if the instrument I purchase needs repair?
AAfter-sales repair for overseas instruments is an unavoidable issue. Our repair terms stipulate that the sender is responsible for the shipping and insurance costs incurred for the repair. Repairs within the warranty period are free, while repair costs beyond the warranty period are determined based on the actual situation.
