QDoes the PosiTector6000 series thickness gauge need to be calibrated for every measurement?
A The PosiTector6000 series Coating thickness gauge is factory calibrated and performs an automatic self-test every time a measurement is made. In most cases, there is no need for a Miscellaneous adjustment after a reset. Simply check that the non-coated substrate is 0 for measurement. The main reason why the calibrate adjustment function is provided is that the data reading of the thickness gauge is often affected by the shape of the substrate, the composition and the different areas of the surface roughness or measurement part. If the reading data of the thickness gauge exceeds the desired range of the measured film thickness, it can be adjusted by single-point or 2-point calibrate. Before specifying the calibrating calibrating method, please use the single-point calibration method first. If the included calibrating foil cannot be accurately measured, the 2-point calibration method can be used. For detailed calibrating operations, please refer to the accompanying instructions.
