HI6321 is a streamlined desktop instrument with a large touch screen display, consisting of an instrument housing and an integrated conductivity measurement module. The HI6321 is compact and easy to operate and includes Hanna's HI7631233 four-ring conductivity/resistivity/TDS/salinity probe.
Recommended for use in a wide range of industrial process water applications, the HI7631233 provides stable measurements over a wide measurement range and does not require frequent calibration. An integrated temperature sensor measures the process temperature and adjusts the measured conductivity to the reference temperature by applying a specialized compensation algorithm:
Linear: Applies when the temperature coefficient of variation is assumed to have the same value for all measured temperatures.
Standard: Suitable for high-purity water measurement and documented in ASTM standard D5391-14. This setting applies to resistivity measurements greater than 1Mohm.cm.
Natural: Applicable to natural groundwater, well water or surface water (or water with similar composition) that meets ISO7888 standards.
TDS is a calculated value based on the conductivity of the solution (TDS = coefficient x EC25). The TDS factor is the conversion factor used to change EC measurements to ppm measurements.
Sal psu: The actual salinity of seawater is related to the ratio of the conductivity of a normal seawater sample at 15℃ and 1 atmosphere to a potassium chloride solution (KCl) with a mass of 32.4356 g/Kg at the same temperature and pressure. Under these conditions, the ratio is equal to 1 and S=35. Actual salinity levels are available for values ââfrom 0 to 42.00 psu at temperatures from 0 to 35℃.
Sal ppt: Measurements expressed in ppt are based on natural seawater grades of 0.00 to 80.00 g/L and cover a temperature range of 10 to 31℃. It determines the salinity based on the conductivity of the sample compared to standard seawater at 15℃ and the salinity value in seawater of approximately 35.
Sal%: In this range, 100% salinity is equivalent to approximately 10% solids.
