Featuring a longer probe shaft and integrated stopper, designed to fit directly into B.O.D. bottles, the probe is made of durable ABS plastic and contains an integrated temperature sensor for temperature compensation measurement.

Introduction

The HI76408W is a low profile polarographic dissolved oxygen probe for use with Hanna's portable Dissolved Oxygen Meters designed for BOD testing. Calibration is quick and easy, and measurements are temperature compensated. The sensitive PTFE membrane can be replaced in seconds for continued use in the field.

This probe has a longer probe shaft and integrated stopper and is designed to fit directly into a BOD bottle and leave for a 5-day incubation period. The probe is made of durable ABS plastic and contains an integrated temperature sensor for temperature compensated measurements. The membrane separates the probe's platinum cathode and silver anode from the water sample being measured, but allows oxygen to enter. Oxygen diffuses across the membrane and interacts with the polarographic system, producing an electric current proportional to the dissolved oxygen concentration.
