Introduction

The URT 101 Laboratory Abrasion Tester is a tool used to compare friction, wear and marking of inks and coatings on commercial printing and packaging. The Tester allows users to visually compare the performance of different product batches, ink/varnish formulations or substrates under identical grinding conditions. It is designed to determine the quality of ink adhesion and abrasion resistance to paper surfaces, plastics and aluminum films. It will dry or wet grind the sample until it reaches the preset value.
