Introduction to ZND-1 ZAHN Cup

JinKeLian ZND-1 ZAHN viscometer is an outflow viscometer with a long handle. It is divided into five models: No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 according to the diameter of the outflow hole. It is suitable for measuring Viscosity values of paints, paints, etc. in different viscosity ranges, measured viscosity values are "conditional viscosity".

JinKeLian ZND-1 ZAHN (Chai's) viscometer can be used in workshops, laboratories and other occasions to quickly test and adjust the viscosity of various fluids. The shape of the cup body is a round head, made of stainless steel, and a variety of nozzles with precision drilling, which can measure liquids with a variety of centistoke viscosities.

Steps

1) Select the appropriate ZND-1 ZAHN viscometer (please check the outflow time)

2) Make sure the ZND-1 ZAHN viscometer and the test fluid are at the required experimental temperature.

3) Make sure there are no air bubbles and debris in the fluid.

4) Seal the outflow hole (by hand), fill up the fluid, and scratch off the excess with a knife.

5) Let go of the hand from the outflow hole, start timing, and stop timing when the first breakpoint of the fluid occurs. The calculated time corresponds to the viscosity time of the test fluid.

6) Fixed flow test method: The procedure is similar to item 5, but the time to stop timing should be when 50ml of fluid flows out.

Principle

ZAHN Cups were originally designed for rapid viscosity and consistency evaluation of Newtonian or near-Newtonian products, providing a high degree of accuracy and repeatability, depending on production quality. In its early form, although somewhat simple in design, today's Viscosity Cups are produced according to a number of international standards that have been developed over the years to specify not only the precise dimensional tolerances required in the process, but also their use and records of the data obtained.

Precautions

In order to ensure accurate measurement results, it is recommended to purchase at least one standard ZAHN Cup with a calibration certificate. By comparing the results of the ZND-1 ZAHN viscometer with the standard product sample measured by the standard Viscosity Cup, a calibration chart is drawn, so that the outflow time can be corrected through the chart, so as to obtain the correct test result. ZAHN cups have short channel lengths (i.e., wall material), so any changes to the channel can have a significant impact on outflow time. Therefore, it is necessary to use a suitable fine brush and solvent to clean the Viscosity Cup. Do not use other cleaning methods or cleaning tools that will cause scratches.
