HI93719-01 is a pre-measured, high-quality reagent that allows users to achieve fast and accurate colorimetric measurements. These reagents follow the adaptation of the Standard Methods for Water and Wastewater Inspection, 18th Edition. Colorimetry. The reaction between the Mg and the calcite indicator resulted in a purple tint in the sample. Separate samples are treated with EDTA to chelate all present calcium and magnesium. Treat individual samples with EDTA to chelate any calcium present. The color difference between the two processed samples is determined by a compatible benchtop or Portable Photometer. The concentration of magnesium is shown in milligrams per liter (ppm) as calcium carbonate (CaCO3).
