If there are defects (cracks, folds, inclusions, etc.) on the surface of the object or near the surface, the magnetic field lines will produce magnetic flux leakage near these defects, and when the magnetic particle with good permeability (usually magnetic iron oxide powder) is applied to the object, the leakage magnetic field near the defect will attract the magnetic particle, pile up to form visible magnetic particle traces, and form visible magnetic traces under suitable lighting, thus showing the position, size, shape and severity of continuity, Defects are displayed.
