It is a general purpose instrument for performing a variety of different scratch and scratch resistance tests on paint layers and plastic surfaces. For test pieces of different thicknesses, parallel and cross marking can be carried out with single cutting knives and multi-row cutting knives. Adhesion tests are carried out according to the cross scoring method and scratch resistance tests according to GME 60 280 for all user standards. A wide range of test parameters and a wide selection of test tools make these tests easy to perform.
The grid tester is a benchtop test instrument with a solid structure and stable marking under harsh conditions. The test process is controlled by PLC, and all parameters (2 scoring speeds, 2 scoring lengths, cross scoring mode) can be set with buttons. Each motion program (specimen transfer, scoring position, and required pressure adjustment) is driven by an independent stepper motor to set the scoring distance, which is displayed as the scribing passes through the insulation layer to the metal base.
