JIS K5701-2-2000 specifies the Color and Transparency requirements for color inks used in planographic printing. The standard applies to four-color Printing inks and specifies the Color characteristics and transparency of inks under specific conditions (such as specific papers and printability testers). The test method involves the measurement of Color and Transparency Evaluation Values of the developed objects by a colorimeter after color has been developed on standard paper at different film thicknesses. The standard also defines the terms standard inks, standard inks set, primary color, secondary color, transparency and transparency evaluation, and provides a uniform specification for the quality control and performance evaluation of planographic printing inks.
