BS 7034-2-1988 Glass viscosity and determination of viscosity fixed points - Part 2: Method for determination of viscosity using a swirl/spin Viscosity meter is a standard developed by the British Standards Institution that specifies a method for measuring the dynamic viscosity of Glass by a swirl/spin Viscosity meter. The standard applies to all types of Glass, both ordinary and specialty Glass, with particular attention to the viscosity-temperature relationship during melting, refining and processing of Glass. Measurement ranges from 10 to 10 mPa · s and Temperature ranges from about 600 ° C to 1600 ° C. This method allows continuous measurement under different shear stresses to evaluate whether Glass is a newtonian fluid. This standard provides a scientific basis for Glass production, research and development and quality control to ensure that the flowability and processing performance of Glass melts meet requirements.
