The ASTM E430-2019 standard provides a test method for the measurement of high Gloss surface Gloss by simplified angle measurement. It contains two test methods (A and B) to evaluate surface Gloss characteristics at incident angles of 20 ° and 30 °, respectively. These methods are suitable for high Gloss metallic finishes, automotive paintings, and Miscellaneous Non-metallic surfaces, but not for diffuse reflection surfaces and do not measure Color. The measurement results of gloss are independent of surface curvature and are limited to flat or flattable surfaces.
