The DIN EN 13722-2004 standard specifies the method of assessing the surface gloss of furniture. It applies to all hard finished surfaces, regardless of material, except for coatings on leather and fabrics. The standard describes the use of three reflection meter geometries of 20 °, 60 ° or 85 ° to assess the surface gloss of furniture surfaces. The test is intended to be carried out on finished furniture, but can also be carried out on test samples of the same material, with the same finish. Not applicable to coatings on certain metallic paints and mother-of-pearl coatings.
