BS EN 23878-1993 Cemented carbide, Vickers hardness test is an international standard for Vickers hardness testing methods for cemented carbide materials. The standard specifies the equipment required for testing cemented carbide materials, the requirements for sample preparation, the test conditions and the method for evaluating the results. The Vickers hardness test measures the hardness value of the material by pressing a diamond indentation on the surface of the material with a specific load and indenter geometry. The standard also specifies the test accuracy, repeatability of test data and deviation range to ensure the reliability and comparability of hardness tests. This standard is applicable to the quality control and performance evaluation of cemented carbide materials, providing an important basis for research and development, production and inspection in related fields.
