The BS 3900-F4-1968 (R2008) standard specifies a test method for the resistance of Coatings to continuous salt fog. This test is used to evaluate the corrosion resistance performance of Coatings or related materials under continuous salt fog (artificial seawater) spraying. The specimens are placed in a closed chamber, exposed to continuous indirect sprays of synthetic seawater, and the test is carried out at room temperature to simulate the corrosion effect in the natural environment.
