High performance liquid chroma-tography, HPLC method for determination of formaldehyde in tobacco additives (flavors and liquid) is specified in this standard. It is suitable for quantitative determination of formaldehyde content in tobacco additives. Methods After solvent extraction of formaldehyde in samples and derivatization with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine, High Performance Liquid Chromatograph/UV Detector was used for determination and quantification.
