This standard applies to the determination of arc resistance of arc-resistant paints. The test uses an arc-resistant instrument, which applies a continuous high-voltage and low-current arc to the time required for the paint film to burn through the conductive, in seconds. The general provisions include requirements for materials and equipment. For example, the specification of phenolic insulating plastic sheet is φ 100X3 mm or 100X100X3 mm, and its arc resistance is 1.5 to 2.5 seconds. The arc-resistant instrument includes voltage regulating transformers, current transformers, AC mAh meters, tungsten electrodes, limited viewership of resistors, timing and other parts.
