This document outlines the classification, requirements, sampling, test methods, inspection rules, marking, Encasement, transport and storage requirements for attapulgite as thickening rheological agents for coatings. It is applicable to improve the thickening and rheological performance of water-based paints systems. A series of normative documents are cited, including methods for viscosity determination, pigment volatiles and pH value determination.
