This standard specifies a test method for the strength of joints of coated fabrics for membrane structures. It is suitable for synthetic fiber or fiberglass fabrics as a base fabric, covering the surface of the base fabric with a continuous layer of polymer, as a coating fabric for membrane structures. The test principle is to hold a specimen containing a joint on a tensile test instrument and stretch the specimen at a specified rate until the joint breaks. The required instruments include an isokinetic elongation tester, which requires the center point of the holder to be on the tensile axis and to be able to hold the specimen vertically.
