This standard specifies a method for determining the tearing force of leather using the bilateral tearing method (Baumann tearing). Applicable to all types of leather. The specimen is a rectangle of a specified shape with a hole in the middle. It is placed on the test hooks of the upper and lower fixtures of the Tensile machine. The tearing force of the specimen is determined by the maximum force value reached when the Tensile machine is running.
