Standard JJG 1012-2019 specifies the procedures and requirements for the first verification, subsequent verification and inspection in use of an online automatic monitor of chemical oxygen demand (COD). The standard applies to online automatic monitoring instruments with COD values in the measurement range of (16~ 1 000) mg/L. COD refers to the oxidation dose of water samples under strong acid heating conditions with potassium dichromate oxidation, expressed in oxygen concentration. The instrument is mainly used for monitoring COD values in water bodies such as domestic sewage, industrial wastewater and surface water. Its detection principles include potassium dichromate oxidation reduction Titrimetric method, Spectrophotometric method, spectrophotometry and Coulomb Titrimetric method. The standard specifies the relative error of indication, indication Stability and other Measurement performance requirements of the instrument in detail, and describes the general technical requirements such as the appearance and insulation resistance of the instrument in detail to ensure that the instrument can provide accurate and reliable COD monitoring data in use.
