JJF 1327-2011 "Ion meter type evaluation outline" is suitable for evaluating the ion meter for the measurement of ion activity in solution by electrode potentiometry. This outline describes in detail the composition and structure of the ion meter, including two parts of the electrometer and the measurement electrode. The electrometer consists of an Impedance converter, a potential amplifier, a functional regulator and a display. The measurement electrode includes an Ion selective electrode and a reference electrode. The Ion selective electrode converts the ion activity in solution into a potential and is calculated by Nernst's formula. The ion meter uses a comparative method for measurement, first calibrating ion meters through standard solutions, and then measuring the potential value of the solution to be measured, which can be directly displayed as potential (mV), or converted to ion activity (pX) or concentration (mol/L, g/L, mol/kg) values.
