The national standard "GB/T 44440-2024 Thermal Insulation Materials, Determination of Long-term Water Absorption by Diffusion Method" specifies the equipment and method for the determination of long-term water absorption of thermal insulation materials by diffusion method. It is suitable for evaluating the water absorption capacity of thermal insulation materials under the condition of close to 100% relative humidity on both sides and the presence of water vapor pressure layer. The method subjects the sample to a specific water vapor pressure difference and temperature layer within 28 days, and the water absorption rate is determined by measurement mass increment. The standard describes the test steps, result representation, precision and preparation of the test report in detail, providing an important basis for the performance evaluation of thermal insulation materials. The standard will be implemented on March 1, 2025, which is equivalent to the ISO 20393:2007 international standard.
