The national standard "GB/T 44335-2024 Test Method for Fine Ceramic Coatings, Determination of Internal Stress of Ceramic Coatings Based on the Stoney Formula" specifies a method for measuring the internal stress of ceramic coatings. The method uses the Stoney formula to calculate the internal stress of ceramic coatings by measuring the change in the radius of curvature of a plate-shaped or disc-shaped sample plated with a ceramic coating on one side. It is suitable for cases where the Coating thickness is less than 10% of the thickness of the substrate, the curvature of the sample profile is spherical, the deformation of the sample is resilience deformation, and the initial profile of the substrate is flat or the curvature is known. The standard details the measurement process, equipment requirements, matrix conditions, procedures and preparation of test reports, providing a standardized method for internal stress testing of fine ceramic coatings. The standard will be implemented on March 1, 2025.
