GB/T 5169.12-2024 Fire Hazard Test for Electrical and Electronic Products, Part 12: Basic Test Methods for Glowing Wire/Hot Wire, Test Method for Glowing Wire Flammability Index (GWFI) of Materials The national standard specifies the test method for determining the Glowing Wire Flammability Index (GWFI) of electrical and electronic insulating materials or Miscellaneous solid materials. GWFI refers to the highest temperature at which a material does not ignite in standard test procedures, or can self-extinguish within a specified time after ignition, and will not completely burn out. This method evaluates the safety of materials in electrical and electronic products by testing on a series of standard specimens to evaluate the performance of materials under overheating conditions. The standard will be implemented on March 1, 2025.
