The standard specifies methods for evaluating scratch resistance of coating systems by simulating a car wash process under laboratory conditions to ensure mass and adaptability of coatings. The standard specifies experimental equipment, experimental procedures and data processing methods. Specifically, the standard requires that coating systems be tested under specific conditions using a car wash machine and then the degree of scratch damage and durability of the coating system are calculated.
