The ISO 22969 standard specifies methods for the measurement of Paints and varnishes solar reflectance. Solar reflectance is the ability of Coatings to reflect sunlight and is an important indicator for assessing whether Coatings can effectively reduce temperature rise on the surface of a building. The standard calculates solar reflectance using the Optical inspection method, the measurement Coating Reflection spectrum. The standard specifies the type, location and intensity of Light sources, as well as the requirements for Measurement conditions and measurement tools. The standard applies to a wide range of Paints and varnishes, including architectural coatings and automotive paints, among others. By following this standard, accurate, reliable and comparable solar reflectance measurement results can be obtained, providing a reference for the selection and application of coatings.
