ASTM C418-20 is a standard test method used to determine the abrasion resistance of sand blasting concrete. This method uses sand blasting technology to simulate the abrasion that a concrete surface may encounter in actual use by spraying sand on a concrete surface. In the test, the concrete surface is fixed to a bracket and then abrasion is performed through a sand blasting gun. The speed and pressure of the sand blasting gun can be adjusted to simulate the strain situation of the concrete surface in actual use. This method is suitable for all types of sand blasting concrete surfaces, including but not limited to roads, airports, parking lots, etc. By using this standard method, reliable abrasion resistance testing data can be obtained to provide reference for the design, production and use of concrete. In addition, the standard has been revised in 2020 to cover more testing details and requirements.
