TAPPI T 839 is a standard test method for measuring the edge compression strength of corrugated fibreboards. The short column test is carried out using the fixture method. The standard applies to single-wall, double-wall and three-wall corrugated fibreboards. The compressive performance of the Cardboard in Encasement and transportation is evaluated by measuring the maximum compressire strength perpendicular to the corrugated direction. In the test, a rectangular specimen is clamped between two platens of the Compression Tester, and pressure is applied until the specimen collapses, and the maximum pressure value is recorded. This method can help optimize the Encasement design to ensure the Reliability and durability of the corrugated fibreboard in actual use.
