ISO 17076-2 is a leather abrasion resistance testing standard published by the international standards organization (ISO). It focuses on evaluation using the Martindale spherical plate method. This method is suitable for a variety of leather types, including semi-aniline leather, chromadizing leather and coated leather, by simulating the friction abrasion of leather in actual use. During the test, the leather sample is in contact with and rubbed against the spherical abrasive, and the abrasion resistance is assessed by observing changes in the surface of the sample. The standard provides a unified test method and evaluation basis for mass inspection and product development in the leather industry.
