ISO 12947-4 《Textiles - Determination of the Abrasion Resistance of Fabrics by the Martindale Method - Part 4: Assessment of Appearance Change》 Related products

ISO 1 2947-4 is an international standard that specifies the method for assessing the change in Appearance when using the Martindale method to evaluate the abrasion resistance of fabrics. The standard applies to all Spinning & Weaving products (including nonwovens), especially fabrics with low wear life. In the test, the round specimen is rubbed against the standard abrasive under a specified load to form a Lisaru pattern trajectory. The abrasion resistance of fabrics is assessed by comparing the appearance changes (e.g. fading, fluffing, pilling, etc.) before and after friction. The test results are expressed in the number of rubbings required to achieve the specified appearance change, and the color change can be assessed in conjunction with the ISO 105-A02 standard. This method provides a scientific basis for the evaluation of the wear resistance performance of fabrics, and is widely used in the quality control and development stage of Spinning & weaving products.
