The ISO 535 standard specifies a method for measuring the water-absorption of paper and Cardboard (including corrugated fibreboard) under standard conditions using the Cobb method. This method is suitable for sizing paper and Cardboard with a quantification of not less than 50 g/m ², not for porous paper (such as newsprint) or high water-absorption paper (such as blotting paper), for which the ISO 8787 standard is more applicable.
