The ISO 6588-2:2021 standard specifies a method for the determination of the pH value of aqueous extracts of paper, Cardboard and pulp (thermal extraction method). This method extracts electrolysis from a sample by hot water and determines its pH value to evaluate the acid alkaline of the material. The standard is applicable to all types of paper, Cardboard and pulp, especially for scenarios where electrolysis extraction is required more quickly. Compared with cold extraction, thermal extraction can improve the extraction efficiency, but attention should be paid to its impact on the results.
