The ISO 23713 standard specifies a method for the determination of pulp Fiber coarseness by automated Optical inspection analysis, using polarized light technology. This method is suitable for all pulps that can cause polarized light, but does not include fibers less than 0.2 mm in length. During the test, the pulp fibers are analyzed using polarized light to determine their coarseness. The standard is widely used in the paper industry to evaluate the fibrous properties of pulp, guide the production process and product quality control.
