The ASTM D714-02 (2017) standard provides a method for determining the degree of blistering on Paints surfaces to describe the size and density of blistering that may occur in Coating systems. This test method is suitable for evaluating blistering on metallic and Miscellaneous non-porous surfaces, and can also be used to evaluate blistering on porous surfaces such as wood when the blistering size meets the scope of the reference standard. This standard is primarily used to develop performance specifications for Coating systems. The allowable degree of blistering should be determined by negotiation between the buyer and the seller. However, this standard does not address all safety issues that may be involved during use. Users need to consider applicable regulations and safety practices before use.
