The TAPPI T 541 standard specifies a method for measuring Cardboard internal bond strength (Z-direction tensile strength) to evaluate the bond strength between the fibers inside the Cardboard. This method applies a normal shear force to a 6.45cm ² (1in ²) Cardboard sample to measure its tensile strength in the Z direction. Internal bond strength is an important performance indicator of Cardboard, affecting its printing, Encasement and processing performance. For example, during offset printing, insufficient internal bond strength may cause internal disbonding of Cardboard, affecting printing quality. This standard applies to single-layer and multi-layer Cardboard, including Spreader paper and film laminating Cardboard, which is widely used in the paper, printing and Encasement industries to provide a scientific basis for quality control and product development.
