GB/T 6730.24-2025 "Iron Ore, Determination of Total Rare Earths, Arsenazo ⅲ Spectrophotometric method, spec-trophotometry" is an important standard in the field of metallurgical analysis in our country. The standard is issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and is under the control of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Iron Ore and Direct Reduced Iron. It will be implemented on November 1, 2025, replacing the 2006 version of the standard. The new standard uses arsenazo ⅲ as Color developing reagent, chromogenic agent, which eliminates the extraction and separation steps of the old version, simplifies the operation process and improves the detection efficiency. The standard is suitable for the determination of the total amount of rare earths in samples such as iron ore and iron concentrate from 0.010% to 1.10% mass fraction. By optimizing parameters such as pH control (2.8) and absorption wavelength (654nm), the detection accuracy and reproducibility are significantly improved.
